Paragraph  1- Atmosphere and weather
Paragraph  2- The Island
Paragraph  3- The Dock and The Water
Paragraph  4- Sum it all up
WALT: use language features

Paragraph 1:
It was a bright, blazing, luminous day. The atmosphere was relaxing, calm and peaceful. The scenery was beautiful and memorising. It looked liked a tropical paradise

Paragraph 2:
In the background, was an island cloaked with trees, bushes and other greenery. The green plants looked rough but not spiky.  In between the bushes and trees was a slightly small opening that looked like there was more to see. The trees and bushes surrounding the island looked like they were soldiers keeping gaurd. You could barely see people heading into the opening, they were probably wondering what new and fascinating things they would discover up ahead.  Close to the water, on the shore, was what looked like some picnic tables with blue and light brown umbrellas for shade from the sweltering sun. Close to the water’s edge were more of these umbrellas. They were also in a bad condition and were ripped in some places. You could also view some of the inside of the bushy forest. It was also covered in the lush green trees, plants and bushes. In the water were what looked like algae in rock like shapes and mushy plants. A mix of white and peach sand covered the rest of the beachfront.  The sand and crystal clear ocean made the place look like a luxurious and tranquil destination to have a relaxing holiday in.

Paragraph 3;
The water in the foreground, surrounding the island was a mix of different shades of blue and a little bit of green. A part of the water was overshadowed by the greenery which was making some of the water look murky green. The colour of the water changed into a dark blue as it got towards the other part of the island. Far in the distance was what looked like a cruise ship. The cruise ship looked like a miniscule ant that could rarely be seen by a naked eye. Coming towards the end of the picture was half of a dock. The dock was wooden and was in good shape. It was a light brown colour. At the end of the dock, near the water, was a bench that  you would think was for sitting on whilst fishing. In the water was a darker brown coloured piece of
Wood.

Paragraph 4:

Overall, the scenery and atmosphere was peaceful, calm and relaxing. Probably everyone wants to go there and have a luxurious trip of a lifetime. If anyone wanted to come they would want to stay there for the rest of their lives.

The force prediction (Reading work)

The Force Prediction

Mum, dad, Max and Harper go for a picnic and splash around in the water playing  human cannonball and to play they had to jump off a wooden bridge, but something scared the children. It was the pushy kid. One of the children had to be excused to the toilet. There he met Yoda. He and Yoda then had a discussion with about how he was dumped. The boy thought Yoda was great.

Assessment: I give my prediction a 7 out of 10 because I got most of the things right and I got the end part wrong.

My speech (School uniforms should be banned)

School uniforms should be banned

Do you think school uniforms should be banned? Well I do and  I’m going to tell you exactly why! They are extremely costly, are totally uncomfortable and impractical and lastly, they don’t allow students to show their personality, individuality, style or creativity. I strongly believe that school uniforms should be illegal and I think that by the end of my speech you will think so too.

Did you know that school uniforms are EXTREMELY costly?  Well, if you didn’t, you are in for a huge shock!  At Halsey Drive School, clothing that makes up the school uniform is extremely expensive. The price of school uniforms are, sweatshirt for $48.00, the polo t-shirt for $36.00, the jacket for $67.50, the summer hat for $14.50, the skirt for $65.00, the girls pants for $46.00, the shorts for $38.50 and lastly the boys pants for $47.00. On top of that, their is an additional shipping and delivery price is a whooping $7.00. Sadly, the spending on school uniforms doesn't stop for parents as children grow in height rapidly, this means that they could outgrow them many times through their years at primary school. Then even more money is wasted on school uniforms upsizing items. If we all wore the same things, we would all look the same and that would absolutely not be cool. Not only that, you also have to have a second pair of skirts, shorts, pants and shirts because then if one pair is dirty or lost you will still have a second pair handy. But on the other hand, if you didn’t have to wear school uniforms you wouldn’t have to worry about all of these problems for the good of it. Wouldn’t life for parents be a little easier when it comes to money if we didn’t have school uniforms. Just think about it.

If you ask me, school uniforms are extremely uncomfortable and impractical. Well if you don’t agree with me, let me put it this way. In some schools the uniform standards are so high that when kids try to make their uniforms look to that standard they feel really uncomfortable and don’t feel like wearing it anymore.  For example, doing all the buttons up on their shirt, tucking in their shirt or pulling up their socks. Some schools require girls to wear long skirts down to their ankles and other schools even make students wear ties, is this really necessary…. It’s not like they’re going to a business meeting! Some uniforms are made  from unpleasant materials and fabrics that make you itch from the start of the school day to the end. Some are so badly designed that they don’t fit well and are hard to move in, especially during fitness and PE. Children move around a lot during the school day, especially at playtimes and may end up doing activities that involve running, jumping, skipping, climbing, twisting and turning.  Kids should be able to move around freely and do all the things that kids love to do without being restricted by a bothersome uniform! Did you know that school uniforms are completely useless? They cause lots of problems. If you compare a school with uniforms and a school without, the school without uniforms have less problems where as the school with uniforms has many problems regarding them.

I strongly believe that when children wear school uniforms, they are not able to express their personality, individuality, style or creativity. Children like to wear stuff they want to wear, not disgusting and boring school uniforms. Different types of people like to wear different types of clothing.

So, to summarise, I believe that uniforms should be banned.  School uniforms are extremely costly, are totally uncomfortable and impractical and lastly, they don’t allow students to show their personality, individuality, style or creativity. Don’t you think we should take action and ban school uniforms for the good of it? Don’t you think schools would be better without them?
