Green Sea Turtle

Green Sea Turtle The Green Sea Turtle is a magnificent animal. These animals are small but lovable creatures.

 Background
The Green Sea Turtle is a marine reptile that can live for up to 80 years. They live in the sea and have quite a few predators such as, sharks, fish, seabirds, crabs and raccoons.

 Characteristics
 This wonderful animal has a rough textured brown shell with green skin. It has a fascinating pattern on its skin. The weight of these animals are 65-130 kgs and they can reach a length of 1-1.2 metres long.

 Diet/Habitat
 The Green Sea Turtles diet consists of marine plants such as seaweed, seagrass and small fish to survive. It catches its prey by pretending it’s a rock and when the fishes come past, they quickly and sneakily attack their prey. They live in warm subtropical and tropical ocean waters such as in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans.

 Jaw Dropping facts
 The Green Sea Turtle is named after the layer of green fat under its shell. When their born they are only 5 cm long. These animals are super fast swimmers when it comes to swimming.

 Extinction Information
 These animals are endangered animals. There are only a few left in the world.
