Book Review

 Title: Dork Diaries Drama Queen

Author and Illustrater: Rachel Renee Russel

                                                             Characters:

The Characters in this  book are Nikki Maxwell, Briana Maxwell, Brandon Robots, Chloe, Zoey, Mackenzie Hollister,  Jessica Mackenzie's BFF,Amanda Hollister, Fifi Mackenzie's dog Mackenzie's parents and Nikki's parents. Nikki, Brandon, Chloe and Zoey are my favourite characters because they are kind, funny and entertaining.

                                                              Plot:

Drama Queen is about how Nikki's Diary is stolen by her enemy in 8th grade, Mackenzie. Mackenzie writes stuff about her life and mean things about Nikki, her friends and her family so that when she reads the diary she feels really bad. Something extremely bad and weird thing happens to Mackenzie that she begs her parents to move her to a new school. But things aren't good for long.

                                                               Your Opinion

I really liked this story, it was interesting, entertaining, funny and it thought me a lesson that was not to streal others  precious and unique belongings. My favourite part was when Mackenzie was whining to her parents to move her to a new  school. She was the most popular girl in the whole entire school, and if the children in the school saw her whining she wouldv'e got kicked out of school and her new name would be cry baby. The funny bit was when Amanda Mackenzie's littlesister lied that she needed a tissue and got  out her purse so she could get what she wanted.

                                                              Recommendation:

I recommend this book because it is a funny, interesting and entertaining. I rate this book to 8 to 10 year olds.I just hope when  you read this book you enjoy it like I did . I rate this book 5 stars out of 5.

The muddiest cross country race

         The muddiest cross country race

GO PUKEKO  GO TUI  GO TAKAPU   GO RURU  GO KOTARE  GO           WEKA!!!!!!!!!
Everyone was screaming and cheering for their house. On Friday 24th August was Halsey Drives muddiest cross country. It was a perfect sunny day but the mud was so bad since it had been raining so badly for the last few days. Children of all ages cheering for the people in their house and their friends, parents, caregivers, grandparents, aunts, uncles and younger or older siblings came to cheer on the children.

The mud smelled like cow poo and made the children scream and in some places the mud was all watery. One or two races after their race, everyone's muddy feet started to feel tight. To get rid of the mud some people used the water from their bottle to clean their feet.

Sauwarna said she was nervous because she thought she would come last and she said the mud was squishy and cold. Sanah felt really proud that she had come first and was also feeling nervous at the start of the race. Her feet were burning under the heat of the rocks and the mud felt really disgusting and  squishy. Anoushka from room 9 said that the mud was really cold and squelchy and she hated it it also smelled like poo and it had smelled the samelast year.

Finishing in first place  for the year four boys was Dylan Wakefield and coming a close second was Aryan Raniga . The year four girls  had a close tie with Sanah Raniga coming in first place, Georgia Hamblyn coming in a close second and Ashley Simpson came in third place.

Overall, Halsey Drive had a lovely time at cross country and enjoyed the ice blocks with their friends.SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!

Why year 4's Should go to camp

Why Year 4's should go to camp

Dear Ms Rithchie,

I am very disappointed after watching the camp video that our class has decided that we can persuade you to let us year 4's go go to camp.

I think we deserve to go to camp because it's not fair for us year 4's because that we have to work hard on our studies while the year 6's get to have fun and enjoy camp. It is not fair that the year 6 students get to go kayaking, archery, rock climbing, watching movies, boggy boarding and swimming at the beach. While others may  disagree  I agree that year 4's deserve the chance to go to camp because when we come back we will be more mature and will be able to teach the juniors what we did. As you will agree we should go to camp because when we go to camp we will learn friendship, thinking for yourself and being on our own. Another reason year 4's  should go to camp because when we go to camp we will get rid of our fears and will get us out of our comfort zone.

In conclusion, I hope this is enough information for you to let us year 4's to go to camp.
